Introducing Kenley staff blogger that is new
It had been just over two years ago it has been that I started as an Assistant Director of Admission at USC. Wow, what a journey! I work with students from the variety of areas: Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Kansas City, and parts of Orange County and San Diego (phew!). We have actually bright hair that is red and also the fiery personality to complement, so I am always complete of energy or over for any adventure. I love to travel, explore the out-of-doors, bake anything with chocolate (lots from it!), and you can find me dancing if you have a positive tune. I am thrilled to be joining the blogging team and can not wait to share a few of my insights and knowledge about the admission college and process life.
I grew up in Utah and lived within the most stunning hills in the globe. I spent quite a little bit of time exploring them, but got tired of the lengthy winters, which is why I was eager to attend school in sunny Southern California. We went to Claremont McKenna College where I learned International Relations and Psychology.
We loved my college experience. I actually adored it, and that’s why I enjoy involved in advanced schooling, specifically helping students find an organization that’s a good fit. It is very easy to talk to potential pupils about USC because it is this kind of place that is great live and study. I have always been lucky to operate on such a dynamic, energy-filled campus. Our pupils are thinkers, scholastic options are abundant, and we have been located in a community that is urban one of the biggest towns and cities on earth. I can not wait to share more about the USC experience as well as the admission process in my posts in the future!
Table For Just One
‘ Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had much longer techniques to go. But no matter, the road is life.’ Jack Kerouac
Currently, i’m writing this website sitting inside a Peet’s Coffee in Northern California. Table for one, headphones in ears, answering emails and logging down notes about my highschool visits from earlier today. For the a few weeks and a half, i’ll be located in hotel rooms and having meals by myself. Usually, there is time to explore the cities I visit to make certain that’s nice. But the majority of the right time, the road can be tiring so I invest the majority of my time resting as much as possible. It is very easy to get sick in the road!
For about two months of the 12 months, several thousand admission representatives all around the country live this lifestyle. From the outside perspective, it seems really glamorous. In many ways, it is really a extremely job that is fun. It is truly rewarding to manage to help pupils in one of the very most transitional phases in their lives. It’s also good having the capability to be away from the office. However, this element of the job can be isolating as well. It generates me appreciate my friends, family and wife right back in the home more.
Still, our mission is what is in the forefront. USC visits over 2,000 schools each year; we look at the most schools that are high of any college in the united states. We are out here in search of students that will compensate the next incoming class of freshmen at USC. It is our goal to put together an exceptionally diverse class every 12 months so we want to meet all types of pupils. I am honored to accomplish my part that is small in process. It brings me personally a sense of satisfaction to get results for a university that aligns with my vision that is own for.
